DESCRIPTION:
The Government intends to purchase Medical Courier Services in support of the 6th Air Mobility Wing mission at MacDill AFB, Florida. This requirement is being set-aside 100% for Small Businesses. This notice is an announcement for a upcoming solicitation to further define the government's need. Due to its magnitude and complexity, interested and eligible contractors are highly encouraged ask questions that they may have.

For purposes of this presolicitation notice, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 492110; Couriers and Express delivery Services with a small business size standard of 1500 employees. The place of performance for this requirement will be MacDill AFB.

Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, material, supervision, transportation and other items and services necessary to perform courier services for the 6th Medical Group, MacDill AFB, FL and Brandon Clinic. These services shall include pick-up of pre-packaged clinical specimens, medical records, echoes, outgoing mail, prescriptions, linen, and clinic x-rays from Brandon Community Clinic and deliver to the designated area at the 6th Medical Group. Two scheduled runs daily are needed, as well as unscheduled requests to pick-up or deliver items from or to the 6th Medical Group and other contractors or hospitals.

A solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) for commercial items under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. A written solicitation will be available on this website on or about 1 September 2009. Government-wide numbered note 1 applies to this notice. The award will be issued as a Firm-Fixed Price contract.

Firms responding to this notice are asked to provide the following information in their initial response: company's full name, business size, DUNS number, address and a point of contact. Presentation of samples, catalogs, etc. are highly encouraged. NOTE: For access to the installation, all drivers must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of auto insurance.
