June 15, 2004

To Our Valued Customers:

As most of you are aware, the Democratic National Convention is coming to Boston July 26-29th 2004.  The Department of Homeland Security has designated this a National Special Security Event.  Due to this NSSE classification, both Federal and State governments have imposed certain restrictions on the access throughout the Boston area that will impact our ability to make pickups and deliveries during this event.

The main impact will be felt along Route 93 from Woburn south into Boston and from Braintree north into Boston.  Additionally the Mass. Pike, Sumner Tunnel, Everett Connector and portions of both Storrow and Memorial drives will have restrictions imposed.

World Courier Ground will make every effort to complete moves for you; however, we do expect that our ability to expeditiously complete deliveries will be effected.  We ask that you try to call in and schedule your pickups or deliveries within the effected area (particularly Boston and surrounding communities) between 7 and 11 A.M. This will allow us a “window of opportunity” to complete the work before road closures and other detours.

As we expect delays, World Courier Ground will be implementing a prioritization procedure during the convention.  All medical and life dependent work will take precedence over other shipments.  In an effort to work as efficiently as possible, on  moves originating or terminating within the RT 128 belt during the hours of road closure we will use our non-stop direct service.  We will make every effort to give you an ETA to pickup and ETD to delivery when you place your orders.

This is a very fluid situation that seems to be changing almost daily; we ask you to check our website at www.wcground.com for updates and additional information.  We will update the website weekly with new information as it becomes available to us.

If we may answer any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us at 1.800.521.2211. Thank you for your cooperation and continued confidence in World Courier Ground.

Sincerely,
